Oxford Theatre: corner Quinpool & Oxford

 

 

 

A visit to the Oxford Theatre located on the corner of Oxford and Quinpool is a MUST. And it doesn't matter what's playing because this is a space the like of which has all but disappeared.  Reminiscent of Toronto's Eglinton Theatre, the Oxford is a classic movie theater in the Art Deco style, complete with silvery Art Deco ladies bracketing the screen and the ONLY movie theatre balcony you will find in Halifax.  The Oxford screens a lot of independent and foreign films you won't see anywhere else in town.
