Balancing Rock: Long Island, Digby Neck

 

 

 

"Balancing Rock" (above) is part of the Columnar basalt formations which line much of St. Mary's Bay Shore. Follow Hwy. 217 from Digby, take one 10-minute ferry ride to Long Island, then continue on Hwy 217 for approximately 4 km to the Balancing Rock parking lot. Take a short walk through the woods and down the steps to a spectacular view of St. Mary's Bay and the Balancing Rock.
